Markus M. Ernst

I'm an endurance and triathlon coach (USA Triathlon and IRONMAN Certified), but I also specialize in athletic performance enhancement through brainstem training, and I perform research for a German University in this field. I formerly held a German Triathlon Pro Card for over 9 years. I joined the German Military as a “Sport Soldier”, which is a government program to support German athletes. Unfortunately, in 2000, my coach and the cycling program tried to push me into doping which never was an option for me, and I always resisted. The increasing pressure to take illegal substances from the organization literally destroyed the fun of this amazing sport and I decided to quit in 2001. After that, I completely lost the drive and love for the sport. I participated in my last pro triathlon in 2001; Ironman Europe (now Challenge Roth). Two weeks after the race, I sold my bike and other equipment and gave up the sport besides coaching until I decided in December 2018 to make a comeback. I found the love for this amazing sport again and I'm happy to share my experience, knowledge and passion with other athletes.
